This internship is part of the Schwartz Community Based Internships. This premier opportunity allows UR undergraduate students to access traditionally unpaid opportunities that highlight the value of the humanities in the workplace. If selected, students will receive a $5,000 stipend over a minimum 270-hour period in a non-for-profit organization in the Rochester, NY region.
Description:
As the Development Intern, you’ll work directly with our Development Coordinator to grow Ugandan Water Project’s community. During your time at UWP, you will help secure resources that will provide solutions to the water crisis in Uganda. You will have many opportunities to work with other members of the team, including the Director of Community Partnerships, Director of Development, and our Events Manager. This position consists of working in UWP’s donor database, experiencing event planning, and spending time with leaders within UWP to grow your leadership skills.
Responsibilities:
- Aid in donor database cleaning to maintain data accuracy
- Assist with prospect research
- Communication with potential corporate and civic partners
- Assist in the execution of events and special projects
- Collect and curate information on networking opportunities

Time Commitment:
- 270 hours total
Location:
- Hybrid: Part time in UWP Office in Lima, NY; Part time virtual
- Can work exclusively in office if preferred and available
- Intern will need to have transportation to the office in Lima, there is not a bus terminal nearby
