Tech Industry Trip to Silicon Valley/San Francisco

The Gwen M. Greene Center for Career Education and Connections invites you to participate in a road trip to Silicon Valley and San Francisco to explore the tech industry.

Network with employers and UR alumni! Confirmed visits for this trip include Google, KLA, Canaan Partners, Menlo Security, Clever and Facebook at this time. We will continue to update these as we confirm organizations.

Last year's trip included visits to companies such as Google, Periscope Data, Intel, Nvidia, KLA-Tencor, Menlo Security, Handshake, Qventus, and Synapse! 

Program Details
Accompanied by Greene Center staff, students will visit 6-9 organizations, tour offices, hear from UR alumni and industry experts, and participate in networking opportunities.

Eligibility
The industry road trip is open to sophomores who are interested in learning more about the tech sector. Space is limited to 25 students.

Program Dates
This trip takes place over Winter Break on January 7-9, 2020.

Timeline
  • The application deadline is Thursday, November 14th.
  • Notification of acceptance will be sent to students via e-mail on Monday, November 18th.
  • Mandatory student orientation will take place on Tuesday, November 19th from 4-5 p.m. in the Greene Center.

Cost
Students must support their own travel to California. Hotel accommodations, and transportation to visits will be provided by the Gwen M. Greene Center for Career Exploration and Connections.

How to Apply
Interested students must submit a resume, statement of interest (may be referred to as cover letter when you upload to Handshake), and the attached application to this Handshake posting.

Student Selection Process
The Greene Center will select students based on the overall strength and quality of the application materials and resume.
