Research Associate I/II - Cardiovascular Genetics

Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Research Associate to support the Cardiovascular Genetics group and to serve as a key member of the company’s iPSC Core. The ideal candidate is a self-starter and problem-solver who will work closely with the team in its mission to discover and validate new targets critical to the company’s success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform large scale differentiations of hiPSCs into cardiomyocytes and other cells of cardiac lineage
  • Assist in the generation and production of novel cell lines
  • Assist in the development of phenotypically relevant cardiovascular disease models
  • Conduct experiments using 2D and 3D cell cultures and molecular biology techniques to support target validation efforts
  • Generate SOPs when required for new procedures and techniques
  • Present findings regularly in both small and large company meetings


Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Cellular Biology, Bioengineering, or related discipline with at least 1 year of relevant experience (this can include research experience and internships)
  • Strong record of prior experience with hiPSC culture and differentiation demonstrating consistency and reproducibility
  • Experience with the isolation and analysis of DNA, RNA, and proteins
  • Gene editing and nucleofection experience is a plus
  • Tissue engineering experience is a plus
  • IHC and confocal microscopy experience is a plus
  • Possesses a strong motivation and passion for science, as well as a positive attitude and keen attention to detail
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks efficiently, to communicate clearly and effectively, and to build open and collaborative relationships in a fast-paced environment
