Energy Industry Business Analyst (Fall Semester Remote)

Responsibilities:
·      Apply methodical engineering techniques tying utility’s grid modernization to financial and climate benefits
·      Identify and use academic and governmental research data detailing connections between energy usage and CO2 emissions
·      Build logical and defensible models incorporating many variables to automate benefit calculations of wildfire reduction, CO2 emissions reductions, Electric reliability, etc.
 
Preferred expertise:
·      Experience with Google Cloud Platform
·      Very strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills
·      Strong initiative and enthusiasm
 
Preferred skills/Majors:
Engineering, Data Science, Earth Science, Computer Science, Business, Economics, or related field
 
Internship would result in a research paper detailing the logic and sources further validating the benefits of applying AI and Drone technology to improvements in power outages, societal electrification, forced shutdowns, Grid resilience and preventing wildfires. May be an opportunity to seek college credit for this experience.

Our solutions and technology allow the utilities to reduce current inspection operation costs by at least 50%, prevent power outages, prevent wildfires and manage their assets in an effective way.
 
You will be working with a talented, passionate and hardworking team of engineers, business development and product managers to build an analytical model that quantifies the benefits applying AI and Drone technology to utility inspection processes.  The model would calculate multiple benefits including: 
 
·     carbon emissions reduction 
·      advancement of societal electrification 
·     adoption of electric vehicles 
·     impacts of solar generation and/or wind generation adoption
·     V2G
·     Utilities’ - operational cost reductions, safety improvements, electric customer reliability improvements, storm restoration improvements, etc.
