Business Intelligence Analyst Intern

Job Description/Preferred Qualifications

KLA Ann Arbor is seeking a talented and motivated individual for an internship position working within the service supply chain organization's Business Intelligence team developing data driven approaches to support our dynamic and complex infrastructure.

 

Our Business Intelligence team charter is to work closely with our business partners in the Service Supply Chain organization developing data driven solutions to determine the impacts of our business decisions/processes/infrastructure. This includes data modelling/wrangling, developing regression and machine learning models, developing what-if simulation models, and building end user tools that our greater planning organization consistently use to make informed business decisions.

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop simulation models that will help the organization predict the customer's experience relative to planning and network infrastructure decisions.
  • Review, modify and develop data, algorithms, and statistical analysis that will be the basis for simulation inputs.
  • Build and run simulation models, collaborate w/ team to test results.
  • Integrate simulation code into an app that prospective users can interact with
  • Successfully support project completion, the end result will be a simulation framework that our organization will use going forward to make planning / process / network infrastructure decisions.
  • Upon closure of the internship, perform a demo and share recommended improvements to senior management.
  • Work closely with others in the Business Intelligence team in addition to cross functional teams (such as our planning organization)
  • Successful candidate will acquire experience with data modelling through all phases from project development to real-life implementation.

Required Qualifications

  • Pursuing BS/BA degree with an analytics/data science focus.
  • Proven experience with one of the following programming languages required (Python, R, Java, C, C++).
  • Background in statistics and probability.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Self-driven, and a strong team player.

Following not required but is a plus:

  • Experience with simulation modelling
  • Experience with Streamlit (or similar)
  • Experience with regression / machine learning models
  • Experience in SQL, Power BI, Snowflake
  • Strong data visualization skills; create powerful visualizations to transform data into easily-consumable, actionable insights.
  • Knowledge of and/or curiosity about the latest trends in supply chain and operations, including evaluating and testing new tools, techniques and frameworks.
