Youth Engagement Intern

This internship is part of the Schwartz Community Based Internships. This premier opportunity allows UR undergraduate students to access traditionally unpaid opportunities that highlight the value of the humanities in the workplace. If selected, students will receive a $5,000 stipend over a minimum 270-hour period in a non-for-profit organization in the Rochester, NY region.

Description: Alive + Well is seeking enthusiastic college interns passionate about youth development to join our team. This internship focuses on engaging with young students aged 13-18, aiming to mentor and inspire them through educational and developmental activities. Interns will have the unique opportunity to design and implement workshops, assist in event planning, and contribute to our social media campaigns to promote youth programs. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and facilitate interactive workshops and educational programs.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of youth events and activities.
  • Create engaging content for our social media platforms to highlight program successes and upcoming opportunities.
  • Monitor and report on the progress of students and programs.

Qualifications: 

  • Currently enrolled in college, preferably in education, social work, psychology, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in youth development and education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Creative thinker with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in mentoring, tutoring, or teaching is a plus.
