We aim to create a cultural shift in perspectives and practice by connecting members to lifestyle programming informed by social justice and anti-racism strategies.
Internship Description
The Grants Research Intern will work closely with the Grant Writer and Coordinator to facilitate the completion of grant writing by researching grant opportunities and maintaining an organized schedule of grants to be written along with their deadlines. The Grants Research Intern will utilize resources like GrantStation, The Rochester Area Community Foundation website, and the Grants Resource Center at the Rochester Public Library to discover new funding opportunities for the organization and properly prepare the Grant Writer and Coordinator to complete grant proposals on time. While assisting with a wide range of projects, the intern will gain hands-on experience and training in many aspects of grant writing and submission, while also gaining a good understanding of a small nonprofit organization.
Responsibilities:
- Research, discover, and vet new funding opportunities for the organization
- Compile all necessary information for grant writing (such as eligibility requirements, contact information, application contents, etc.) into organized shared google documents
- Assist in grant writing and proofreading as needed
- Provide support to the Grant Writer and Coordinator to facilitate the completion and submission of grant applications
Administration & Qualifications:
- Ability to work independent and remotely as needed
- Team oriented
- Maintain an online schedule of potential grant opportunities and their deadlines
- Attend training sessions as assigned and staff meetings
