The Humanities for Life (HFL) 2022 Summer Internship Program, funded by a grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, connects 25 students interested in the arts and humanities to paid internship opportunities with non-profit arts and cultural organizations in the Rochester area. These internships help students access traditionally unpaid opportunities that highlight the value of the humanities in the workplace while building critical skills for post-graduation success.
  • FAQ - "Are these internships in person?" - Due to the pandemic, internships might be virtual. It will depend on the individual organization and state guidelines. This information will be updated on the job description for each site in Handshake.
  • FAQ - "How long are the internships?" - Program is 10 weeks long with 30 hours a week worked at the internship site and an additional 5 hours each week expected for UR program activities.
  • Start and End Dates for the Internships should be discussed with each site during the interview process.
  • FAQ -"Can I apply to more than one internship?" - Yes, you can!
  • FAQ - " Are there multiple job descriptions per employer?" - Yes, there are many organizations with multiple internship descriptions so please detail which internship.
