ROC Paid Internship+$2500: HR Business Partner (RAISE 2022)

This is a RAISE (Rochester Area Internship Summer Experience) Program offered with an additional UR-funded $2,500 living stipend per cohort intern at each of the 10 RAISE organizations. About this role
  • During this 10-week internship, you will lead and support several exciting projects to drive results in one of the following HR areas: compensation administration, employee engagement, employee relations, learning & development, analytics & reporting, performance management, and staffing.
  • Projects will be designed to address real business priorities and to provide challenging growth opportunities with high levels of exposure to leadership.
  • Final placement and project details will depend on both candidates’ preferences and actual business needs upon internship starting date.
  • Likely location, with some flexibility, will be our Rochester, NY.
Successful candidates will
  • Have a strong understanding and knowledge of business analytics to enable and influence leaders to make sound talent decisions and promote employee engagement and positive / productive employee relations.
  • Partner with client groups to build and execute talent plans in achievement of overall business strategy, objectives and goals.
  • Identify and diagnose issues proactively and develop, recommend, and implement root cause solutions that enhance employee engagement / experience and business results in a timely manner.
  • Participate in and / or lead projects and special initiatives within and outside the HR function as assigned.
  • Promote high professional standards, positive interpersonal relationships, and demonstrates L3Harris core values.
Qualifications
  • Completion as a first-year undergraduate student before internship starts and currently enrolled in bachelor’s program from an accredited college or university.
  • Must not be employed at the time the internship starts.

  • Effective written and oral communication and ability to influence individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work as a collaborative partner in a team-based environment.
  • Ability to link situations to the bigger picture; ability to identify root cause and underlying issues.
  • Organized and able to handle a fast-paced work environment by dealing with ambiguity and taking initiatives to tackle challenges.
  • Demonstrated proficiency using Excel and PowerPoint to analyze data and make / present recommendations.
  • Some experience / familiarity with employee relations and organizational / management development.
